    About Us

Schoolzine began with a simple belief: when parents are engaged in their child’s school life, students do better. Nearly two decades on, that belief still guides everything we build.

SZ App puts your school in families’ pockets. A notification pops up on their phone straight away and stays in the app’s feed, so families can find it again later.

Find SZ App #

In the Control Centre, select Manage SZ App from the menu. On the left is your app’s Feed: everything you’ve sent, newest first, with the groups each notification went to. On the right is Send a notification.

The Manage SZ App page

Click the pencil on a feed item to edit it, or the red minus to remove it from the feed.

Send a notification #

Sending has four steps: Details, Content, Recipients and Review.

1. Details #

  • Notification Title: the heading families see, such as “Athletics Carnival on Friday”.
  • Notification Text: the short line that shows in the push notification on the phone’s lock screen. The counter tells you how many characters you have left.
  • Send Date and Send Time: leave these as they are to send now, or choose a later time.

Click Next.

2. Content #

Write the full message in Notification Content. Families see it when they tap the notification. You can add formatting, links and a picture.

Writing the notification content

3. Recipients #

Under Select groups, choose the groups to notify. To include one person, search for them under Search for single users and click Add.

Choosing the recipient groups

4. Review #

Check the preview and the Recipient Groups. Click Back to change anything, or Send when you’re happy.

Reviewing the notification

Tip: Keep the notification text short and clear. Families often read it on the lock screen without opening the app.

Other ways to send to SZ App #

You can also reach SZ App from:

  • Quick Send Message: select App as a channel. Good for urgent news.
  • Communicate: choose the SZ App channel in a new message. Good when you’re also sending an email or SMS.
