FAQs
Find answers to some of the most common questions about Schoolzine, our products and how we help schools communicate and connect with their communities.
What does Schoolzine do?
Schoolzine helps schools and education organisations communicate, connect and engage with their communities through easy-to-use digital tools designed specifically for education.
Our products include digital school newsletters, school websites, SZApp, SZ Bookings for parent-teacher interviews, Sports Tracker for school sports management, and a range of digital communication tools including calendars, forms and surveys.
We also offer EduTranslate, helping make school communications more accessible through context-aware translation and readability tools, and our Image Guardian Suite, designed to help schools better protect student images when sharing school life online.
For dioceses, education departments and school networks, Schoolzine Enterprise brings communications and management together in one centralised platform, providing greater visibility, consistency and control across multiple schools.
And behind it all is our dedicated Australian-based Customer Success team, supporting schools with the tools, training and guidance they need to communicate confidently and effectively.
How do Schoolzine protect the privacy of information of the school and parents?
Your information is kept in a secure segregated database on our server. It remains your intellectual property.
We will never sell or use your contact details for anything other than the delivery of your school newsletter, unless you ask or instruct us to do so.
What commitment does Schoolzine need from the school?
We know every school has different communication needs, which is why Schoolzine offers a range of products that can be subscribed to individually. You can choose the tools that work best for your school without paying for products or features you don’t need.
Our products are generally offered on a 12-month subscription, giving your school access to the tools and ongoing support you need throughout the year.
Whether you’re looking for a digital newsletter platform, a new school website or additional tools to support your school community, we’ll help you find the right solution for your needs.
How much, and what kind of content can we include?
There is no limit on the amount of content you can include. Schoolzine newsletters can include text, full colour photographs, galleries, videos, forms with digital signatures, surveys, polls, registrations and links.
We already produce our own school newsletter in-house — why involve Schoolzine?
You can still create and manage your school newsletters in-house, just with better tools and less work. Schoolzine’s digital newsletter platform makes it easy to create professional, engaging newsletters without needing design or coding skills.
Unlike traditional PDF newsletters, which can be difficult to read on mobile devices and present accessibility challenges, Schoolzine newsletters are mobile-responsive and designed with accessibility in mind. That means families can easily read and navigate your newsletter whether they’re using a phone, tablet or computer.
With flexible layouts, images, videos and interactive content, you can create newsletters that are more engaging for your school community, while making the entire process quicker and easier for your team.
And you’re never on your own. Our dedicated Australian-based Customer Success team is here to help whenever you need a hand.
It’s everything you love about creating your own school newsletter, with less time spent on the fiddly bits and more time to focus on sharing what’s happening in your school community.
What if parents prefer a hard copy?
No problem! Schoolzine’s digital newsletter platform includes a built-in print tool that lets your school export newsletters as PDFs whenever you need a printed version. Our custom-built print tool also allows you to adjust the layout for printing, so you can create a version that works best for your school and community.
That way, your school can enjoy all the benefits of a digital newsletter while still providing printed copies for families who prefer or need them.
Who owns the content once provided to Schoolzine?
Your content remains yours. Any text, images, videos, documents or other materials your school provides or uploads to Schoolzine remain the property of your school or the original content owner.
Schoolzine provides the tools to create, manage and share your communications, but using our platform does not transfer ownership of your content to us.
Why use email to deliver newsletters?
Email makes it easy to deliver your school newsletter directly to families, without relying on printed copies making it home in school bags.
With so many notifications coming through school apps and everyday school emails, important information can sometimes get lost in the noise. When using Schoolzine’s Email Engine, newsletters are sent from a dedicated email address, helping families recognise when their school newsletter has arrived and distinguish it from other school communications.
For schools using our Email Engine, the platform also provides built-in reporting, including email open rates, bounces and unsubscribes. This gives your school valuable insights into newsletter performance and helps you understand how effectively you’re reaching your school community.
